Introduction

Hello! My name is Amanda Jonas and I am currently an undergraduate nursing student at Alverno College with a business management minor. During this semester I am in a Microbiology course which requires us to write a blog on an important global issue that is related back to microbiology. This blog will explain all about climate change, which is often used interchangeably with global warming, and the carbon cycle. Climate change and the carbon cycle are linked together and both have dramatically changed due to a few major human behaviors. The burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial agriculture are major components of the movement of carbon into the atmosphere which pushes the earth's natural carbon cycle out of balance (Climate Change & the Carbon Cycle). Although this balance has been hindered, it is never too late to restore the natural carbon cycle and combat climate change.
